AI is not just another technology; it’s a fundamental shift … It’s like electricity — it will transform everything. (Andrew Ng)

Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform and reshape industries, and is rapidly creating new consumer services (think ChatGPT) and also becoming integral to core business operations. For business leaders, understanding and integrating AI into their organizations’ strategies is not just an option but a necessity to maintain a competitive advantage and foster innovation. With the AI landscape changing so quickly and dramatically, business leaders also need to have timely feedback on AI usage and trends.

To provide the market with near real-time collective intelligence, Protiviti is launching a series of AI Pulse Surveys over the course of the year. The series will seek insights from a broad range of respondents, including C-Suite leaders, on how their organizations are currently using or preparing to use AI, where they see growth opportunities, and how they are addressing related challenges.

Each survey, designed to be completed in no more than 6 minutes, will be focused on a specific AI-related theme. The initial survey, which opens on March 31 and closes April 21, is about AI readiness and adoption, as well as perceptions on AI value and return on investment. Companies are at different points on their AI journeys. Business leaders can benefit from understanding in real time how peers are seizing the opportunities and addressing the challenges of embedding AI into their organizations.

Potential benefits include:

  • Enhanced decision-making: AI improves decision-making by providing leaders with data-driven insights based on the processing of vast amounts of data in real-time, offering precise analyses that human cognition cannot match at the same speed or scale. This enables business leaders to make informed decisions quickly, which is critical in a dynamic market environment.
  • Customization of customer experiences: By analyzing customer data, AI can tailor experiences, recommend products and predict customer needs before they arise. This not only enhances customer satisfaction but also increases loyalty and revenue.
  • Risk mitigation: AI tools can identify patterns and predict potential risks by analyzing historical data. This predictive capacity helps in mitigating risks before they manifest, ensuring smoother operations and safeguarding against losses.
  • Process efficiency: AI can automate repetitive tasks, freeing up employees’ time to focus on more complex and strategic initiatives. This not only increases productivity but also reduces the likelihood of human error in these tasks.

Our ability to provide the market with the latest thinking around these benefits and document real-world experiences with AI will help forward-looking business leaders make better-informed decisions. Future AI Pulse Surveys will center on topics such as data quality and readiness and agentic AI, as well as other topics of interest identified by survey respondents.

Remember to take the AI Pulse Survey now, and we look forward to sharing the survey findings with you soon.
